How Do I Install and Use the Electrical Power Bar Feature On My Vanity?

Here are the guidelines for installing and using the electrical power bar in my vanity.

Our vanities are equipped with conveniently built-in electrical outlets, which offers access to power your devices, all while maintaining a clean and hassle-free aesthetic. Below, we’ve outlined a comprehensive guide on how to install, use, and maintain the power bar safely. Please consult a certified electrician for all installations to ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.

Installation Guide:

  1. Map the Installation Area:
    • Before starting, identify a suitable location for the electrical outlet in your bathroom, relative to the placement of your new vanity.
    • Make sure the outlet is accessible from either the rear or side or side of the vanity, allowing the power bar’s built-in GFCI plug to reach.
  2. Install the Outlet:
    • A certified electrician should install the electrical outlet within the mapped area, ensuring that it’s within reach of the power cord when the vanity is fully installed.
    • Access for the power cord can conveniently pass through the cutouts located along the backside of the vanity to connect to the electrical wall outlet.
  3. Plug in and Secure:
    • Connect the power bar’s GFCI plug to the outlet and secure the power bar inside the vanity using the mounting brackets provided.

Safety Guidelines for Use:

  • Avoid Overloading:
The power bar is rated for 15A 125VAC 60Hz with USB ports outputting 5VDC 2.1A MAX. Make sure not to exceed these specifications to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Keep Away from Moisture and Chemicals:
Do not store any chemicals (e.g., ammonia, bleach, alcohol-based products) near the power bar, as they can cause corrosion, fire, or explosion risks.
  • Indoor Use Only:
This power bar is designed exclusively for indoor use. Avoid installing or using it outdoors.

How to Maintain the Power Bar:

  • Regular Inspections:
Periodically check the power bar, plug, and cord for signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
  • Disconnect Before Cleaning:
Always unplug the power bar before performing any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of electric shock.
